Resident Camp
What camp meansThere is a reason why campers, counselors, and staff return to Camp Goodtimes year after year. Something special happens in this week when we all come together to share our laughter and open our hearts.
Campers, cancer survivors and siblings, learn that they are not alone in managing the cancer that has touched their lives. Camp counselors and staff learn the value of volunteering, the joy of being spontaneous, and the responsibility of leadership.
Camp Goodtimes stands for hope and joy of life. This spirit is heard through our laughter, seen in our smiles, and preserved in warm camp memories that last a life time.
Cost
Because of the generous donations and the continued support of numerous foundations and individuals, the America Cancer Society is able to offer this experience to campers at no charge.
Location
Camp Goodtimes West sits on the shore of Vashon Island in Puget Sound. Campers are housed in cabins with peers of the same age and gender, along with two counselors.
Health Care
All campers have access to excellent, professional health care during their stay at Camp Goodtimes. Doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel are on-site 24 hours a day, volunteering their time and giving expert care to ensure a healthy camping experience. Because of the quality of care we can provide, children who are currently taking medication are welcome to attend.
Participants describe their experience at Camp Goodtimes:
"It is not often you get to talk to other cancer survivors. It was very cool!"
